About the Society

Through the support of the community, Mangawhai Harbour Restoration Society's mission is to restore the Mangawhai Harbour to its past prime condition, creating an environment, recreational and historic resource for the enjoyment of all.

The MHRS is a community-based, voluntary organisation, with a responsibility to liaise with local bodies and other community groups.

Physically it relies upon volunteers from within the community, without whom it could not function. Financially it relies on the support of the community by way of a rates levy, endowment funds, grants and goodwill.
